Athletics: Sri Lanka mens renowned the SL record twice to satisfy 4th in Asian Athletics Champs

Sri Lanka's school Athlete shattered the odd by renewing her personal best in 100m finals with her personal best by clocking 11.56 Secs at the Asian Athletics Championship, China.

Meanwhile, Sri Lankan men's 100mX4 relay team renewed the Sri Lanka record twice in double quick sessions. Sri Lanka team . Shehan Ambepitiya, Himasha Eshan, Vinoj Suranjaya & Mohamed Ashroff clocked Sri Lanka's best time 39.59 Secs in the heat to end 3rd and renewed the clock with 39.38 Secs to satisfy fourth in the finals.. Sri Lanka missed the chance of enjoying a medal by split seconds of 0.03 Secs.

China won the Gold while Hong Kong satisfy with the Silver in the relay event. Chinese Taipei secured the Silver with a time of 39.35 Secs over Sri Lanka's all time efford of 39.38 secs.

The national 400m womens Champion failed to perform her personal best as she clocked only 54.24 secs to be come 6th in the finals of the championship.

Veteran long distance runner Gayan Wijekoon end the 5000m finals as the 9th out of 10 who were completed the race with a minimum expectation of 14: 23.77 Mins.
