(5th July 2012,Cricturf) : The newly refurbished Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo, which build in keeping with international standards, has received the Class 1 Athletic Facility Certificate from the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) today (04), the Sports Ministry said.
Mathew Cohen of Trackmasters International Ltd, who was in Sri Lanka during May 2012, inspected the stadium.
According to his report 28125000,24-27 May 2012, ISA Sport, NED, the Sugathadasa Stadium has met with all the technical requirements of IAAF Rule 140 for the relevant competitions.
Dharmasiri Rahubadda of Gahakola Landscaping, handed over the Certificate to Minister of Sports Mahindananda Aluthgamage. Sports Ministry Secretary Udaya R Seneviratne and Chairman Sugathadasa National Sports Complex Brigadier Priyantha Samaratunga were also participated at this event
