26,Sep (CRiCTURF.COM): Carlton Sports Club together with the Sri Lanka Rugby Football union is set to host the annual Rugby 7s tournament at the end of October.
The event is sure to make a spur with the newly introduced platform and will be named as "CARLTON SUPER SEVENS".
The event will be staged during a span of 2 weeks with 10 teams battling it off representing 9 districts. All teams will carry a unique name, logo and color in relation to the particular District they represent. "CARLTON SUPER SEVENS" teams will consist of international players, club players and junior players.
The event is organized with the objective of developing the countries Rugby Football and to attract more youngsters in to the game. The event structure will hopefully take rugby to all parts of the country to create more awareness and attract talented rugby players to serve the national squad.
The 1st leg of the tournament will take place in Kandy on the 29th and 30th of October & 2nd Stage will Kick off in Colombo on the 5th and 6th November.
