27, May 2012 (CRiCTURF): At the end of the first leg of  Carlton super 7s first leg , the Nothern Western blacks grabbed the standing position as the Champions while the Southern Sharks gained the runners up position.

The second day of the tournament started with the belief of Jaffna Challengers who was unbeaten first day to go for the victory especially with their  front row Fiji national players along with Fiji Captain Stefana Chakaunivalu. Fijians are usually well adopted to play  in Sri Lankan conditions and exposed their exposure to the game on the day one. However, the Challengers were beaten by the Southern Sharks who are the former runners up at a crucial match and ended up as the 7th of the series today (27th May).

However the Uva Vipers , the next big outstanding team in the tournament with 4 New Zealand nationalities along with a New Zealnd coach captained by New Zealnd's 7s Skipper DJ Fobes and their prime performers Charles Piutau, Tim Mikkelson and the (IRB player of the year) Tomiasi Cama and the Sri Lankan prominent players like Costa brothers (Ashan, Lasantha) and Riza Mubarak lost their decider match against the Blacks and managed to end up as the 3rd of the table in the Kandy leg.

Southern Sharks which was one the most reliable teams so far that came to the front line all the way from the bottom of the table ended up as 4th in the group stages and won against the unbeaten Jaffna Challengers and opened up the gates to the final with the help of local skills from Dushan Lewke to shake front line teams from the bottom of the table. Sharks end as 4th in group stages and won against unbeaten Jaffna Challengers to open gates to finals with help of Sri Lankas primer rugby players like Dushan Lewke (CR&FC), former CR&FC Ashan Karthelis and Dinusha Chathuranga (Former Pathanian and Navy).

North Western Blacks Pium Jayasinghe was named as the best player of the Kandy leg for  his outstanding contribution in the final with a hat-trick. At one point, Pium was rewarded by the international player Webber by handing over the ball to Pium to complete the try(which was his hat-tick completion) as a tribute to his fantastic play through out the day.

Ashan de Costa of Uva Vipers was named as the Top Scorer (Local) of the series.
