Thisara Perera's quick 75 puts Sri Lanka in a 111 run lead

(10th July 2012,Criturf): At the end of today(10),  Sri Lanka was all out with a handy at the 1st innings in the final Test. Thisara Perera proved him self with bat aswel with a quick 75 runs in 86 balls at a much needed stage for Sri Lanka.Thisara scored his debut half century today  three massive sixes in his innings.Thisara Perera added him self in to record books with his 75 runs breaking the record of Ruwan Kalpage as the highest scoring 8th wicket batsman. Ruwan Kalpage held the record by scoring 62 Runs as the 8th batsman for Sri Lanka.

Junaid Khan and Ajmal was successful in ball for Pakistan by grabbing 8 wickets. Junaid Khan picked 5 of Sri Lankan wickets to form his 3rd 5 wicket haul. Junaid had a 5 wicekts during the 2nd Test match held at SSC.

Tharanga Paranavithana and Thilan Samaraweera started the 3rd  day after the second day which was completely washed out by rain (2nd Day of test called off due to rain). Both Tharanga and Samaraweera formed a partnership of 143 Runs in 47 overs for the 4th wicket and it was the highest partnership for any wicket at Pallekale.

Thisara Perera and Nuwan Kulasekara helped Sri Lanka accelerate the to lead 111 runs with their partnership of 84 Runs for the 8th wicket in 18 overs. Nuwan Kulasekara made a valuable 33 runs to drag Sri Lanka's score over 300.

Sri Lanka Leading 111 Runs in 1st inning.

 

 


Pakistan openers walked to the middle for their 2nd innings and Nuwan Kulasekara striked early to pick Taufeeq Umar's wicket for 6 Runs and the days play called off after 6 overs were bowled.

 

Pakistan 27/1 ( 6 Overs) - Tomorrow is the 4th Day of the match.
