(19th July 2012,Cricturf): India and Sri Lanka, the two countries that have played cricket with each other more than any other countries in the world are set to meet again for yet another series which is all set to start this Saturday the 21st of July with the 1st of the 5 ODI's at Hambantota. The series which was initially a test series and later converted to a limited over match series with 5 ODI's and 1 T20 International will be played from the 21st of July to the 7th of August at Hambantota, Colombo RPS and at Pallekale.

The Indian team arrived in the island this morning and a press conference to launch the series was held this evening at the Taj Samudra with the participation of the two captains Mahela Jayawardena and Mahendrasingh Dhoni and other officials.

Responding to the questions raised by the media about the disappointment in the loss of the Cricket World Cup 2011 finals in India last year, skipper Mahela Jayawardena stated that they did the best they could with the given circumstances and that with more than a year passed since the incident, it was time to move ahead from that and think into the future.

When asked about the series being changed from a test series to limited over match series, Indian captain MS Dhoni stated that it was always and honour and privilege to play against Sri Lanka since over the year both team have shared great respect for each other in and off the field and there have been no serious incidents that have happened between the two teams over the last several years.

With Sri Lanka coming out as the better team of the two in recently concluded Pakistan series, when asked from Mahela if the same performance could be expected in the Indian series the skipper replied that him and the rest of the team were looking forward to the Indian series and hope to end the series on a positive note.

It was also noted by Secretary of SLC Mr. Nishantha Ranatunga that the DRS would not be used in the series since the BCCI has not agreed on the usage of the system and that ICC rules require both team managements to agree on the usage of the DRS to be used.

The event concluded with the captains and the marketing manager of Micromax, the title sponsors of the series unveiling the trophy for the winning team.
