Desert Cubs Cricket Academy of UAE tour to Sri Lanka

20, July 2012 (Cricturf): Desert Cubs Cricket Academy youngsters will arrive Sri Lanka next month to participate in 55 matches in different age limits.

Desert Cubs Cricket Academy (DCCA) was started by former Sri Lankan youth player and an ACC elev coach Presley Polonnowita, to provide cricket training facilities for a group of 10 youngsters in United Arab Emirates. The Acedamy developed in to one of best Cricket academies based in UAE.

Desert Cubs toured England during past three years and they changed the destination to Sri Lanka in this year.

Match Touring Schedule: August 03rd Arrival and 17th August Departure to Dubai.

This year Sri Lanka tour party will comprise about 100 participants which include 70 players predominantly from India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. They have been grouped in to five teams according to their age i.e. U11, U12, U13, U15 and U17. The teams will play 35 matches against the schools and academy teams from Colombo, Kandy and Galle during their 14 days stay in Sri Lanka.

DCCA intends to identify top talent in Sri Lanka during these matches and plan to provide them scholarships to come to UAE and get coached by DCCA’s well qualified and experienced coaches. They will also get the opportunity to participate in domestic tournaments and get trained in the state of the art

DCCA also intends to open a branch in Sri Lanka using its unique coaching model and facilitate international tournaments which would attract various cricket teams from all around the world. As the largest and the best Cricket Academy in UAE we expect to tie up with top notch cricket loving organizations in Sri Lanka for sponsorships to facilitate the above initiatives.

The official press conferance to introduce their tour proceeding held today (20) at Galadari Hotel, Colombo. Mr Asoka Bandara of Delmage, Mr. Charaka Perera of Hassani Group, Presley Polnnovita the head Coach of DCCA, Sidath Tennakoon Deputy Head coach of DCAA, Anoj Silva ( Tour Management ) & Mr Aaron Wedasinghe participated at the occasion.

Hassani Group of Companies & Sarjah International Airport sponsoring the whole tour as main sponsors.
