(24th July 2012,Cricturf): Limiting the touring Indian team for just 138 in less than 34 overs, Sri Lankan side had more overs left to start off the batting before its the time for dinner. Sri Lankan openers Upul Tharanga and Thilakaratne Dilshan got into a perfect start leading the team for a easy victory at the end to level the series as 1-1. The advantage of strong winds were still there for the Indian bowlers but the Sri Lankan opening duo managed to read the ball quite well and identify the weak deliveries to keep adding runs to the score board.

Sri Lankan iron man Thisara Perera who again showed some pure class by giving his team a breakthrough became the Man of the Match while Gautam Gambhir was the only successful batsman or rather the Indian in the entire match.

Indian who struggled in picking up wickets continued until Ravichandran Ashwin who managed to pick the wicket of Thilakaratne Dilshan towards the end of the game which didn't make much difference for the final result. Both the Sri Lankan openers managed to reach their respective half centuries.
