(11th July 2012,Cricturf): Sri Lanka is always blessed with some great cricketers in the srilankan cricket legend in past and present as well. We have witness lot of evidence to prove that truth. Sri Lanka had some great players in the history, recent past and present respectively in the shape of Sidath Weththamuni, Ranjan Madugalle, Arjuna Ranathunga, Sanath Jayasuriya, Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardena. Those are very few start productions of Sri Lanka Cricket. Each and every one of them was born with a born talent, which they turned into a unique brilliance by frequent practice and tiresome effort. Sri Lankan cricket have been passing some great milestones as a result of their untiring effort.
We all know that famous phrase “Cricket is born in England, Australians are born for Cricket” as cricket lovers. Now as Srilankans now we can modify that phrase like this and say “Cricket is born in England and SHARU is born for Cricket”. Sharu is the little superman who made a huge revolution of Sri Lankan cricket history. He was born in the year of 2006 and has been playing cricket since 11 months. He has a great temptation and loyalty towards this prestigious game cricket and the most amazing thing about him is the amount of talent he carried from his little infant age. The potential skill he got is so amazing and he has amazed many great cricketing personalities with this magical talent for his small age.

This is an abstraction from his website http://www.sharucricketlife.com
Shanmuganathan Sharujan (born April 25, 2006) is a kid, who is dreaming to represent Sri Lankan cricket team in future. He is the youngest in family of 2 kids. His father S.Shanmuganathan is a professional photographer and mother is a house wife. Sharu has shown his passion for cricket when he was 12 months old. He spends most of his time with the ball and the bat. Sharus's father is also a cricket lover, has identified his talents and is working hard to prepare him as a future cricketer.
Sri Lankan and international cricket commenters have also identified this little kids passion and talent for cricket. They have made great comments in several occasions. These comments are truly encouraging.Sharu loves his country and cricketers. He has proved that in last world cup series. Daily mirror (April 4, 2011) has featured his photo with a banner saying 'You are the champions even without the cup'

Sharu's present coach is Mr Sujeewa piyadarshana. He is a licensed coach of the SLS. I would like to write down his comments about Sharu. "Sharu was referred to me by one of my friends. I did not ask his age. Before I met Sharu, I thought he may at-least 07 years old. But surprisingly I saw five years old little kid. Then I asked him "Who is your favorite cricketer". He said "Kumar Sangakkara". Then I asked him to wear his cricket outfit and ball. First I taught him some core bowling techniques. He is a quick leaner. He memorized everything quickly. I heartily believe that he has talents to surpass his senior colleagues. I think this kid has a great future.
Sharu's parents, teachers and coach have identified following talents.
- Left hand bating and Bowling style right arm leg spin & leg break
- He is mainly following Kumar Sangakara's style.
- He can mirror bowling styles of Shane Warne,Muralitharan, Mendis and Malinga
- He has his own bowling and batting styles.
- He has good running skill.
- He has a great memory and mathematics skills.
- Language skills-English, Sinhala & Tamil.
- He clearly understands vital cricket rules.

Tony Greig, Tom Moody, Sharu Sharma and Roshan Abeysinghe have talked about Sharu's talents in their recent cricket commentaries. They have identified the potential of this little one.
During the Australian tour of Sri Lanka at the 3rd test at SSC on the 16th September 2011, Tom Moody has tweeted about Sharu in his twitter page saying : "Sri Lanka's next batting star 5 yr old left hander we've been admiring on the hill during the 3rd test."
