(12th July 2012,Cricturf): Despite being low strength, Kiwi side was able to pull off a well deserved 88 run win over West Indies on the third match of the ODI series yesterday(11). New Zealand who was trailing the series by 2-1 started off the innings and was able to put up a total of 249 with the opener Rob Nicol scoring 59 and the Kiwi bowlers didn't let the Windies to get more than 161 to wrap up the game with a win.
The key wicket of Chris Gayle who did a huge damage in the last game was taken off by Tim Southee edging to Martin Guptill who took a brilliant catch to end Gayle for just 11 runs and it was the first time in the series he failed to reach at least 50 runs.
However, the New Zealand top order except Nicol and Nathan McCullum failed to perform as expected. Watling also started to perform really well until he tore a muscle in a leg giving more injury fears to the side.
The fourth game of the series will be played on the coming Saturday on the same venue.
