(24th July 2012,ANI): England captain Andrew Strauss has said team coach Andy Flower will speak to each player individually, as the world's best Test team attempt to pick up the pieces after their fifth Test defeat in nine matches this year.
England would head towards the next Test match in Headingley, starting from August 2, with their number one status on the line. The first two matches of a modern Test series normally arrive fast in back-to-back games, but England have more than a week before the second Test, a situation made possible by the Olympic Games complicating the calendar.
In the meanwhile, Flower intends to seek answers from his players during a one to one chat with each one of them regarding what went wrong in the first Test match against South Africa.
"Andy will chat to the players individually. Everyone needs to go away and think about what they did in this Test match and steel themselves as much as possible to come and play some good hard cricket next week, because that is what it will take," The Telegraph quoted Strauss, as saying.
"I think one of the advantages of having a bit of time before the next Test is to take stock and let things settle. That is always a wise thing to do anyway. We will be doing that over the coming days," he added.
"I am sure there are lessons for us to learn coming out of this Test match. There have to be, and it is increasingly important in a three Test series not to repeat those mistakes in the next game. I still think we will come back into the series. We have often played our best when we have come off," he said.
