Sri Lanka 'A' leaves to South Africa today

(21st June 2012): Related to 'Sri Lanka Cricket announced a 17 man Sri Lanka "A" squad for upcoming South Africa Tour'

The Sri Lanka ‘A’ squad led by  Dimuth Karunaratne will be leaving to South Africa today(21) evening for a three week tour. Sri Lanka 'A' is scheduled to play two Test matches(not official) and two limited over matches with South Africa 'A' team. Captain Dimuth will lead the team in both test and limited overs whereas Kusal Janith will be the Vice Captain.

The highlighting youngsters who are in the team to possible get a breakthrough are Vice Captain Kusal Janith, Bhanuka Ra j apakse, Udara Jayasundara and Angelo Perera who finished his England tour successfully. 

Chamara Silva, Kaushal Silva, Dhammika Prasad, Kosala Kulasekera, Chamara Kapugedera and Farveez Maharoof are the six experienced Test players in the side.

Limited over team : Dimuth Karunaratne (Capt), Kusal Janith, Chamara Silva, Bhanuka Rajapakse, Roshen Silva, Sachithra Serasinghe, Kaushal Silva, Dhammika Prasad, Dilruwan Perera, Kanishka Alvitigala, Tharanga Lakshitha, Nilanka Premaratne, Kosala Kulasekera, Malinda Pushpakumara, Angelo Perera.

Test matches are to be played in Kingsmead and Durban. The first one is from June 30 to July 3 and the Second will be from July 7 to 10. Two  limited over matches will be played on July 13th and and Julay 17th.
