17, July 2012 (Cricturf): Sri Lanka Premier League will be happen only after player contracts are finalized ; said Mahela Jayawardane at the media brief of the Sri Lanka premier League yesterday (16). Question was raised by one of the fellow journalists regarding the Sri Lanka cricket central contracts and whether they will be finalized since its the most talked topic in the Sri Lankan Cricket context right now. .
Sri Lanka Cricket failed to agree with the players opinions regarding the central contract before the Pakistan tour started and the issue still persists with a minimum solution.
Mahela Jayawardane agreed that non of the Sri Lanka players came in to a conclusion to finalize their player contracts prior to the tour and the President of SLC agreed to the statement saying it will be finalized very soon. According to the SLC Chairman Mr Upali Dharmadasa, Mahela and SLC governing body has discussed regarding the issue very closely and the final steps will take place during the coming week to wrap things up.
"We were unable to finalize the matter since the tour of Pakistan interfered our further discussions, we are looking forward to come to conclusion wit in next week." "We will finalized and sign our contract prior to SLPL contracts and also we are currently discussing and seeking a conclusion." Answered Mahela for the question raised.
