(10th August 2012,Cricturf): The inaugural Sri Lanka Premier League twenty20 opening ceremony held today(10) at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium Colombo. The event was filled with traditional and colourful events from performances to the theme songs for each team. The main attraction of the event was the singing by international cricketers along with our Sri Lankan singers and criketers as well as the theme songs of each team.
All the theme songs of each team were done and performed from A-Z by Sri Lankan artists and these theme songs had the flavor, uniqueness and a clear identification about each teams province and their own characteristics. The different type of Sri Lankan dancers, instruments and music styles exposed the Sri Lankan music and unique features for the rest of the world. That is why this is our very own "Sri Lankan Premier League" that belongs to all the Sri Lanakans.
The event was broadcasted live globally over 80 countries via Television and Youtube live steam. Sri Lanka's premier and past cricketers participated in the occasion to make it a more success.
West Indian Cricket Legend, the Prince of Trinidad Brian Charles Lara attended the event as a guest of honor and his speech was a very proud moment for every Sri Lankan cricket lover.
