(26th August 2012, Cricturf) : After the result of the 1st match of the day between Uthura and Nagenahira, Ruhuna Royals entered to the second match of the day against Wayamba United with the hope Semi Final entry.
Wayamba United came in with their full strength along with the remaining players left since the Pakistan players of the team had to leave the squad to join national duty for the Australian tour of UAE.
The hope of Ruhuna was trashed down by all the departments of Wayamba United. Wayamba who elected to bat first gave a fairly tough target of 163 for Ruhuna Royals to win the game. The session trying to chase the score did not succeed for Royals as Wayamba bowlers started taking wickets frequently by adding more pressure. Young Lahiru Thirimanne showed a matured innings along with the tailenders Wahab Riaz and Lasith Malinga and tried to reduce the winning margin but the support from the rest of the team was not enough for him to lead the team for a win (9th wicket Partnership 35 in 12 balls & 10th wicket Partnership was 33* in 23 balls).
Wayamaba United won the game by 14 runs
