02, Nov 2011 (Cricturf): Veteran Fast Bowler Chaminda was announced his retirement (He Retired from Test Cricket earlier) from all forms of Cricket recently. Vaas is a legend who has done a impressive job for Sri Lanka cricket through out his carrier of 15 years.He is the man who changed the need of fast bowling options in Sri Lanka with the capability of taking early wickets to collapse the opponent.

Holding an unbreakable record of a hatrick in 1st three balls of an inning and he is the only Sri Lankan bowler who has grabbed the highest number of wickets in first ball of the innings. At the end of a fantastic carrier, Vaasy has 355 test wickets in just 111 matches and has also contributed 3089 runs as a batsman indicating how successful he is as a bowling all rounder.

He represented Sri Lanka in 322 ODI's and has a bulk of 400 odd wickets in hand which took Sri Lankan pride ahead.

However, towards the latter part of his carrier the national selectors ignored his talent and the ability which left him to leave the game he loved without a single match as a farewell which he surely deserve.

This man called Chaminda Vaas, also known as Vaasy by many Lankans is a great player who was a great human being and a gentleman in the field too. And according to him, he is retiring to share his talent and experience with school boy cricketers which his dream is to produce some good fast bowlers for the country. We wish him all the very best for his dream and we also would like to mention that he will be a man that any Lankan cricket fan will forget.

Finally, does this Lion deserve a farewell ? Do Sri Lakan cricket body has a responsibility to repay for his contribution with a honorable departure..? Maybe one last farewell match to say good bye in front of the spectators and international media? What do you all think?
