Sri Lanka's fast bowling sensation Lasith Malinga elected as an brand ambassador for ICC Twenty 20 world cup in Sri Lanka.
ICC selected him on his overall performance in all format of cricket during his career. Lasith Malinga currently holding the 7th place in Twenty20 format bowling world rankings with less appearance for Sri Lanka. He played his last Twenty20 match against England in England and only participated in 32 T20s for out of 55 matches played by Sri Lanka. He is holding 40 wickets in his 32 appearance as a bowler.
According to the source Malinga expressed that he is privileged to hold such distinguished honor to represent Sri Lanka as an ambassador. Also he further mentioned that he passionate to take the game of Twenty 20 format to the world and invited fans to gather to help ICC Twenty20 event success.
Sri Lanka hosting the first ICC twenty20 world cup in Asian Region and the matches scheduled to start from 18th of September this year.
