The BlackCaps’ chances at September’s Twenty20 World Cup have just taken a turn for the better.
Key all-rounder Daniel Vettori is available after previously ruling himself out of everything but test cricket.
The simple fact is that when you’re Vettori you can pick and choose when you play for the BlackCaps. Today it was announced he is available for the Twenty20 world cup in Sri Lanka in September, after deciding a year ago that he didn’t want to play the shortest format of the game internationally.
"It’s a place I love to bowl - everyone likes it," Vettori says. "Great place, and it should be a great tournament."
National selection manager Kim Littlejohn is pleased.
"I think it’s the ability to be in a team that could win the Twenty20 World Cup. He wants to be a part of it."
